  • Hey Boomer. I'd like to apologize for everything that has happened recently. I never wanted anything to happen like this and it's a shame that it ended with nearly half the staff being demoted and blocked. That's pretty much the reason I came clean, I wanted things to be back like they were before. Anyways, no hard feelings, friend?

    • I'm glad you had the courage to expose Communist's hate club. It's a shame things went the way they did, but its best for the wiki. I saw the screenshots you took and they were absolutely disgusting. Someone that racist and anti-semetic doesn't belong on this wiki. Anyways, I accept your apology.

  • Hi Boomer. I know you disagreed with the way I handled some things on GTA Wiki and may not care to hear from me, but I have some advice.

Wikipedia has a policy called "Involved". That means that under general circumstances, it's not a good idea for an administrator to block people with whom he is in a dispute with.

I've looked through your contributions. I haven't seen any evidence that you've been rude or insulting to other editors. The category that you blocked Myths hunter for pointsgaming for, Category:GTA San Andreas Myths, was a duplicate of Category:Myths and Legends in GTA San Andreas and thus you were right to prevent him from doing that.

Deleting The Funktasm's blog criticizing you, though, was a bad idea, as it got the people who're complaining about you all stirred up again and gave them extra ammunition to use against you.

There are times to go in with guns blazing and there are times to act with prudence and restraint. Generally, you bring out the guns when you're trying to prevent something like this current feud. If you can follow the metaphor, shooting your gun in the air when people are just shouting sometimes gets silence, but once war has broken out (and it has here) shooting just makes them shoot back.

Feel free to hit me up either here, GTA Wiki or Community Central if you want advice.

    • Boomer, blocking AK-28 in retaliation for blocking you and Sasquatch was exactly the sort of thing I was advising you against doing. Especially since you blocked him for a month for what was his first offense.

    • Jeff i agree with you. As i previously said things like blocking users in this type of situation will cause all this to happen once again.

  • Hi Boomer,

I see you deleted another thread  calling for your removal. As a reminder: wikias are community-run and -organized, and if the community wants to comment on your fitness as an admin, that is well-within their rights.

Going forward, do not delete threads like that.

    • Hi Ducksoup, I don't know if you have looked into the entire situation here but I'll explain it to you.

About a week or so ago a user was unhappy with his block due to incivility, so he wrote an ill fated demotion request against me filled with personal insults. So Gunshow2 wrote another one littered with lies and inaccuracies about me which he has realized and apologized for. After that it was pretty much resolved until one user wrote an agressive, provoking blog post just to stir things up again; so I took it down for the good of the wiki. After that he continued his disruptive behavior by writing another one and then leaving me an aggresive message on my wall which I then left him a warning. After that Gunshow2 left him a message suggesting him to put me up for demotion. After reading that Gunshow2 is trying to stir things up again,  I then left him a message on his wall which The Funktasm then intervened on; throwing personal insults my way and being incivil to Sasquatch101 by saying "Fuck you" to him. After seeing that Gunshow2 condoned his behavior, I then proceeded to block The Funktasm for 1 week whick was removed  by Gunshow2 and then restored by Sasquatch101. After that a demotion request was filed against me with the main reason of me running The Funktasm off the wiki even though I have only had one encounter with him. So after seeing the pathetic reason, and being sick of getting critisized every time I do my job, I deleted it as I already thought the issue was resolved. Just so you know, this was the only time I ever have deleted my demotion request.

So I would just like your opinion on this as Gunshow2 has created some sort of millitia that thimks they are above the rules. Thanks.

    • That pretty much sums it up. I mean we as Staff members never have had any problems here until the recent chain of events. If someone at community central was not following the rules they would be handled according to the rules. Now let's say a group of Wikia Central staff got together off site to scheme on ousting a user who follows the rules to the tee. You see everytime Boomer does his admin duties he gets accused of nonsense and has a demotion filed. I know Gunshow2 is poisoning other staff off site as he has already admitted to it previously. Bottom line is that you can't fault Boomer for being a tough cop per say as he is one of the only users here who carries out the rules and a corrupt staff that is headed by Gunshow2 who trys to silence him.

    • Hi all,

I'll be quite honest: even with all the background you provide here, it's still not OK to delete demotion threads.

If a vote goes through but you see irregularities in it, I'll always check them out before taking any action - you have my promise on that. As it is, there was another demotion request deletion in the interim, and that's contrary to Wikia policy.

I'm happy to answer questions if you have them.

Yes, I'd like to know if actions taken against him on other wikis should be usable as evidence here. The admin in question has been warned for incivility and a lack of maturity before, at another wiki for the same game series.

  • How about instead of acting like a tough southern cop stereotype, and calling everyone "boy," refusing to take criticism, and all your other shortcomings, you ask the other, actually competent moderators how it's done and learn something.

  • Yeah, I can be a massive dick at times. I promise that I will never vote 'yes' on any other demotion for you, hell, I'll even vote yes if you decide to run for Bureaucrat. It's the least I could do to make up for this damn war! So let's put our differences aside, and go back to hunting some myths!

    • I accept your apology, but its not all water under the bridge with me. You wrote a slanderous demotion request against me, imported votes just to get me out, and pretty much got everyone against me. I'd just like to know what I did to you that warranted all that hate to come my way. Anyways, I'd like to decline your bureaucrat offer as I would only want to be voted in as one fairly, not out of guilt. But  thanks anyways.

  • I'm sorry you have had to deal with this backlash for following the rules and doing your job. You will not be demoted as that user who filed the motion broke cilivlity rules as well as carrying on a feud. Don't let this BS phase you, as you are one of the wiki's best editors.

    • Thanks for your condolences Sasquatch, but I really just feel betrayed by the entire staff who've I considered some of them friends. I don't feel appreciated here at all after everything I've done for this wiki. I have been here since the begining and the entire staff trying to get rid of me just because some troubled user isn't happy with his block is the ultimate disrespect one could ever get. At least half of the demotion request was TAA's message to me and the other half was uncivil personal attacks and lies. And I now know Communist for some reason hates me because if you read masih's pathetic request for promotion it states  that Communist contacted him so he could have some extra votes against me. That entire demotion request was shady, and should have been taken down by Communist when he first saw it. I can't believe that all of this has happened after just doing my job by blocking a pointsgamer and an uncivil user. I have done nothing to deserve this.

    • You are an amazing editor and do your job to the best of your abilities. Never feel upset by what happend as anyone with half a brain can see the lies and broken rules. TAA is an unstable user who targeted you so it would free up a staff position and thus Jim would have more pull in the community votes. Mashi unvailed Jim's plans where they probably talked off site about ousting you. Plus I don't know if you noticed two users one of which that never edits here voted aginst you. I bet TAA has a sockpuppet.
